Employment-based visas retrogressed again

Employment-based visas in the U.S. are again retrogressed, according to the revised July Visa Bulletin released by the Citizenship and Immigration Services Offices (USCIS) today.

The USCIS allocated some 60,000 new employment visas this past month just to be able to clear its backlog but the allocations have all been exhausted and any new applications would not be accepted until October 1, the start of the USCIS' 2008 fiscal year.

what about those who are already done with packet 3,and waiting for the embassy interview and medical examination? will there be new priority dates? thanks

From what I've gathered, unless you already have an interview schedule, you'll have to wait until the visas become current again, which hopefully will be on Oct.

I think the way it works is that when you've been scheduled for an interview already, that means you already have a visa number. If you don't have an interview schedule yet, it means your application is still part of the queue, nakapila pa lang, as we say.

If you have an interview appointment already with the US Consulate, I suggest you don't postpone it for anything.
