CTS eligibility requires Pearson Vue registration

A reader of this blog just informed us that registration with Pearson Vue was needed before the Eligibility was issued. So, if your CES report has been issued or, at least, when all the documents needed for the CES is already complete, you may want to register and pay the testing fee to Pearson Vue (http://www.pearsonvue.com/nclex/) so that your Eligibility and your ATT can be issued. Technically, you can register earlier with Pearson Vue since you have one year to get your Eligibility.

We have only learned about this through this reader's feedback because, in our own applications, we had registered with Pearson Vue even before our CES report was issued.

Once you get your ATT or Authorization To Test, you have three months (90) days to schedule your exam. The testing fee is $200, and if you're taking the NCLEX outside the US, there's an additional $150-fee.

Hello Geof, ako ulit. What documents do I need to register to Pearson vue? Will CTS inform me or send me a CTS report? Thanks

At this point, CTS is only waiting for yout CES report, which should be ready soon. Be assured that when your CES report is ready, CTS can issue your Eligibility right away (assuming you have everything else completed, e.g. application, fees). They only want you to register with Pearson Vue to complete the entire application.

But if you do not wish to register with PV at this time, you may still do so.

Just register and create an account online with Pearson Vue. You can pay using a credit card, bank draft, or international money order.

After you register and pay the $200 fee, you will be issued an ATT or Authorization to Test. This can take from a few minutes to more than a week, depending on the response time of CTS and IDFPR. Once you get your ATT, you can call the Pearson Vue hotlines to schedule a testing date. Have your ATT and credit card ready when you call as they will need to charge the $150 at this time.

Hi Sir Geoff, CGFNS is done processing my CES and report was already issued. I would just like to share my happiness and a million thanks to all your help. BTW may I know how long is the processing time for Visascreen? Thanks po ulit

tulirong rn,
congratulations on getting the CES report done.

As for the Visascreen, remember that the requirement for the VS is (1) a passing English score (either IELTS or TOEFL iBT) and EITHER (2a)passing NCLEX score or (2b)CGFNS Certificate (via exam).

Just like with the CES, the license verification usually takes the most amount of time, but once that's done and all the other documents are ready, a VS can be issued very quickly in less than a week.

//How To// Applying for a license in New Zealand

Filipino nurses who wish to register with the Nursing Council of New Zealand must show proof that they are registered with the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) of the Philippines as a nurse and they must either 1) have completed an assessment program or 2) have earned a qualification equivalent to a New Zealand nursing qualification. Only a nursing degree earned from an Australian nursing school is deemed equivalent to a NZ nursing qualification, so unless you have the money to enroll in Australia or NZ, the best route to take is the 6-week competency assessment program. To simplify the application process, here's what you need to do: 1. Take the IELTS. A band of 7 on all parts of the exam is required by the NZ Nursing Council. An average of 7, with scores below 7 in any part will not qualify you for registration. You must consistently score at least 7 in all parts--reading, listening, writing and speaking. 2. Once you have the IELTS, contact the NZ Nursing Council. You wil
