Application fee increase for Illinois licensure

I just got confirmation that CTS, which handles applications for nurse licensure in Illinois, has increased the application fee from $79 to $82. Both CTS' Web site and the application packet that can be downloaded from the Illinois Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation Web site shows the fee increase.

Geoff,

What if I have already submitted my CTS application last year (but they haven't received the CGFNS document so they still can't process my application) along with my payment -- do I still have to pay the difference? Or is it applicable only to new applicants?

I believe the fee increase only took effect this year, so you may be spared from that. Anyways, you'll be advised if an additional payment is needed. At this point, CTS is likely to be waiting only for your CES report.

Hi Geoff, do you have any idea as to how long will it take for endorsement from Vermont to Illinois? Ty

It's difficult to say exactly how long an andorsement application goes. Among other things, the availability of the needed documents, how fast it gets delivered, and the volume of applications both at CGFNS (CES report) and CTS would influence how long an application gets done.

I would guess upwards of three months, assuming you have everything ready.

Hello Sir, checked my CES application status at the cgfns.org, says there that its READY FOR REVIEW. In your experience how long did it take your CES report na nasubmit sa CTS? Salamat

Our application from that point on took about less than a week before the report was issued.

CES report first, how to send TOR from school registrar, fingerprinting card, how to pay,TOEFL, NCLEX? It gets so mixed up in my mind. SOrry for the bother. Thank you!

Geoff, i am a first-timer applicant to Illinois State for NCLEX RN..
i would like to ask if how can i obtain the 12-digit-Test Code and 4-digit-Test Center Code in my Application form i downloaded from idfpr website.
Their reference sheet is somewhat vague regarding how to fill-this up.

and how much will i attach to my application form as a money order to CTS? is it $82 only?
their form stated that i have to pay $200 to NCSBN? is NCSBN equivalent to PEARSON VUE?

//How To// Applying for a license in New Zealand

Filipino nurses who wish to register with the Nursing Council of New Zealand must show proof that they are registered with the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) of the Philippines as a nurse and they must either 1) have completed an assessment program or 2) have earned a qualification equivalent to a New Zealand nursing qualification. Only a nursing degree earned from an Australian nursing school is deemed equivalent to a NZ nursing qualification, so unless you have the money to enroll in Australia or NZ, the best route to take is the 6-week competency assessment program. To simplify the application process, here's what you need to do: 1. Take the IELTS. A band of 7 on all parts of the exam is required by the NZ Nursing Council. An average of 7, with scores below 7 in any part will not qualify you for registration. You must consistently score at least 7 in all parts--reading, listening, writing and speaking. 2. Once you have the IELTS, contact the NZ Nursing Council. You wil...

// How To // UPDATED Applying for a nursing license in Illinois

UPDATE: In Sept. 2011, IDFPR made some changes to the application guidelines that affect internationally-educated nurses. Updated information is provided after each step, where necessary. Here's a quick rundown of the things to do when applying for a nursing license in the state of Illinois if you're a foreign-educated nurse: 1. Apply for a Credentials Evaluation Service (CES) report from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS). Request for a Course by Course evaluation or the Full Education report. Download the application form from the CGFNS Web site (http://www.cgfns.org). *** You may apply for a CES with either CGFNS or with Education Records Evaluation Services . 2. If your school's medium of instruction is NOT English, apply and take the TOEFL iBT (www.ets.org/toefl). How do you know if you're school's medium of instruction is English? Aside from trying to recall if your teachers taught in English and made you read books in Engli...
