thanks for those informations...
i hve questions wer can i get the board rating? do i need to apply 4 dat form? coz wat i hve now is the verification slip only with breakdown of grades in small xerox paper..
Geoff said…
You can apply for your board rating and certification at the PRC. You'll need to fill out a form and then pay the processing fee. Regular processing takes 1 month but there is an express service where you can get it within the day or the following day.

Some hospitals accept the certification with board rating when you apply for work, training and seminars.

thnk u so much!!!! ur so kind..
do u have an idea how much the express service?
thnk u so much geoff...
Geoff said…
I'm not sure about the processing fee. I think the Express fee is about P200 while the regular fee is less than P100.

anyone who knows the requirements & other infos regarding st. lukes' competency training for nurses? thanks!
Anonymous said…
hi geoff... if you were to choose between lung center and capitol medical center, where would you go in terms of their training competency? im kinda having hard time to choose between the two..thanks.
Geoff said…
I don't have any experience with either Lung Center or Capitol so I can't tell you about their training program. I would look at the areas I would be exposed to, the length of the program, the cost, and convenience of commuting to these places if I were to choose between them.

Goodluck.

Hi! I've been looking for IVT trainings for like, weeks already... Pls help me with this.
Other trainings will also be very much appreciated. ANSAP is not much of a help. sorrry. Help?
Geoff said…
I am also dependent on the information that ANSAP provides. It is really difficult to get slots in the IVT seminars being conducted so you usually need to work harder to get into a program.

Here's what I suggest you do. Get a list of all accredited IVT training facilities and get their contact information. Call each one and get the schedule for the current month and the next and ask how early you can book a schedule for the next month, if you can no longer join the current month's training. Then just prepare all the requirements and go early on the appointed date.

hi geoff, i've called world citi, chinese gen and fabella for ivt training, sad to say, they were already filled up. martinez memorial college is still accepting but one shud register there in person, they don't entertain phone calls to be included in the list, there's no definite sched yet but they said it will be held on 3rd or 4th week of march...fyi
Geoff said…
Thanks for that tip. Hope you get into an IVT program. Goodluck.
Anonymous said…
Hi, I'm done with my IV training...do you know any hospital which accepts RNs for IV completion only?
Geoff said…
I would assume that most hospitals that conduct IVT seminars accept for-completion only applicants. So you can start from there. Fabella, which I know accepts completion cases is backed up at the moment, but keep trying as they may open again soon.

just want to ask if UP-PGH administers preemployment examination even if they're not hiring as of yet... i just finished my nclex review and i think it would favor me if i take their exam now... thanks!
Geoff said…
I believe UP-PGH continues to accept applications, although the wait list as I understand is pretty long.

is there a training fee in pgh??
BTW unciano hosptial in antipolo is offering ivt training.. amang rodriguez is already closed though their training is end of march

and also, is east avenue open for voluntary training? im sorry i cnt call their office.. it would be too expensive for me, im here in the province, and we only have a cellphone, too bad for me, so if anyone can share informaton, may god bless u
Geoff said…
Thanks for the tip. Yes, PGH collects a fee for their training program, I'm not sure though how much it is now. If you wish to apply though for a job a PGH (although there's a long waiting period), I belive you only need to pay P100 for the testing fee, aside from your own expenses in gathering all the documents needed.

East Ave. Medical offers a volunteer progra. We posted an article about this in the past, please search the archives. Thanks

//How To// Applying for a license in New Zealand

Filipino nurses who wish to register with the Nursing Council of New Zealand must show proof that they are registered with the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) of the Philippines as a nurse and they must either 1) have completed an assessment program or 2) have earned a qualification equivalent to a New Zealand nursing qualification. Only a nursing degree earned from an Australian nursing school is deemed equivalent to a NZ nursing qualification, so unless you have the money to enroll in Australia or NZ, the best route to take is the 6-week competency assessment program. To simplify the application process, here's what you need to do: 1. Take the IELTS. A band of 7 on all parts of the exam is required by the NZ Nursing Council. An average of 7, with scores below 7 in any part will not qualify you for registration. You must consistently score at least 7 in all parts--reading, listening, writing and speaking. 2. Once you have the IELTS, contact the NZ Nursing Council. You wil
